Collaborative Care
A leadership presence at the table means little without mutual respect and a consistent, reliable, collaborative presence. Unfortunately, total lack of sincere Congressional presence has contributed to public disrespect and erosion of a healthy democracy.
How can we care about collaboration, with authenticity to interpersonal relationships, nurture to trust, aggregation of valid information and appreciation for legitimate data?
*Continue to measure and report on Congressional bipartisanship. Add metrics for collaboration with other national leadership and work groups. Add metrics for constituent collaboration.
*Require Congressional presence at collaborative tables. House and Senate leadership should be accountable to written rules for time, presence and productivity of their members and the members’ committees.
*Evaluate current Congressional oversight that does not require direct communication and direct collaboration. Reconfigure and redesign the oversight, so that Congressional members must be face-to-face with those affected by the operations they are overseeing.
We should ensure harmonious symphony with interpersonal relationships, trust, valid information and legitimate data wherever Congress has a presence. We should start with an open-minded approach to collaborative care. This way, we can move together, forward together, with legitimate data.
